兼併目標輕勝G3賽事,下場目標是史密夫錦標,長遠目標可能會出戰新加坡同英國的賽事
International sprint star Takeover Target had nothing more than a stroll in the park when racking up win number 19 in the Group Three AJ Scahill Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
The Joe Janiak-trained nine-year-old, ridden as usual by Jay Ford, gave his four rivals no chance with a dominant frontrunning display in the 1400m feature.
Accomplished performer Scenic Shot attempted to match strides with Takeover Target in front, to no avail.
When Ford gave the champion some rein rounding the turn Takeover Target ($1.40 fav) bounded away and put the issue beyond doubt in a matter of strides.
He cruised to the line 2-3/4 lengths ahead of Tarzi ($9) with Royal Lott ($26) a neck away third.
Hartley's Dream ($20) was fourth while Scenic Shot ($5) compounded to finish last.
The first prizemoney of $81,250 took Takeover Target's overall earnings past $5.5 million from his 37 starts which have also yielded 10 placings.
Janiak said Takeover Target would now be given a brief spell and brought back into work in February.
"We'll get him ready for the TJ Smith then Singapore and England again," he said.
"That'll just about wind him up." | |
