艾斯根都仲要多6至8個月時間恢復
Cox Plate winner El Segundo has started his comeback to the racetrack while his Group One winning stable mate Blutigeroo is back in work with trainer Colin Little.
El Segundo has had stem cell tendon regeneration treatment on a superficial digital flexor tendon he injured in January and is now undergoing a rehabilitation program at Murchison in northern Victoria.
Little said Peter Clarke, who is noted for his success of getting injured horses back to the track, was looking after El Segundo's rehabilitation.
"He is in good hands," Little said.
"Peter has been doing it a long time and is pretty good at resurrecting tendons."
El Segundo's program involves lot of treadmill walking in leg high water.
"He will be there six to eight months," Little said. "We are taking it really slow with him."
A winner of 12 races and more than $3.7 million in stakes, El Segundo hasn't raced since winning last year's Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley.
Meanwhile Little is unsure about the immediate future of Blutigeroo who is enjoying stable life again at Caulfield.
Little said the six-year-old, who had an extended break after finishing 19th in last year's Melbourne Cup, could campaign in Brisbane but there were no definite plans.
"He got knocked around a bit in the Melbourne Cup and had three months off," Little said.
"He is back in work now as I didn't want him to be out for six months."
Little said Blutigeroo may only have one run this campaign just as Efficient did when he was spelled after last month's Blamey Stakes.
"I don't know if he (Blutigeroo) will go to Brisbane," Little said.
"He's not quite forward enough at this stage but if he missed Brisbane then we are in the middle of nowhere.
"It's not the end of the world.
"He could do an Efficient and have one run and go out again.
"I am just happy to potter him around for now.
"He does well in the stable and he looks stronger."
Blutigeroo has won 11 of his 37 starts with his last success the Group One BMW (2400m) in Sydney last autumn.
