Sydney weight-for-age star Racing To Win has suffered a joint injury and will not race again this spring.
His campaign has been cut short after just one race following scans taken at the Randwick Equine Centre today.
He requires a spell but the injury is not deemed to be career threatening and he is expected to return to training in 2009.
Racing To Win opened his spring campaign with a sterling first-up win over Gallant Tess in the G2 Warwick Stakes at Warwick Farm on August 23 and was scheduled to have his second run in Saturday's Theo Marks Stakes at Rosehill.
Gallant Tess underlined the strength of the Racing To Win form when she beat Doncaster Handicap winner Triple Honour in today's G2 Chelmsford Stakes at Randwick.
Racing To Win, who has won 12 of his 20 starts, was being primed for the G1 George Main Stakes at Randwick on September 27.
A trip to Melbourne was not a priority this spring with the grey's connections indicating that their preference for a trip to Hong Kong for the international meeting at Sha Tin in December.
