總共有六匹歐洲代表參加墨爾本嘉年華
Champion Irish stayer Septimus and five other European horses have beeen placed in quarantine ahead of their planned trip to Australia for the Melbourne Cup carnival.
Septimus, the ruling Melbourne Cup favourite, was among three horses placed in quarantine by trainer Aidan O'Brien at his Ballydoyle headquarters in Ireland.
The Irish St Leger winner winner will serve two weeks in the quarantine compound at Ballydoyle with stablemates Alessandro Volta and Doncaster Cup winner Honolulu.
Other Melbourne Cup entries Profound Beauty, trained by Dermot Weld, Yellowstone, prepared by Jane Chapple-Hyam, and Varevees, trained in France by Richard Gibson, have also begun their quarantine in England.
All six horses are scheduled to be flown to Melbourne on October 11.
After their arrival they will spend another three weeks in quarantine at the Sandown racecourse.
O'Brien is proceeding with his Melbourne Cup plans after he was given the green light from the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service to train his trio while meeting quarantine requirements.
Dual Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Weld was also given permission to use his Clunemore Lodge stables in Ireland as a quarantine facility.
Sheikh Mohammed's Cups entry All The Good and a travelling companion are scheduled to arrive in Melbourne in the early hours of Saturday morning aboard Godolphin's own international jet transporter.
They will arrive several hours before a flight bringing the Luca Cumani-trained pair Mad Rush and Bauer from England.
All The Good and Mad Rush are set to run in the Caulfield Cup on October 20 while Bauer is set to run in the Geelong Cup on October 22 as his lead-up to the Melbourne Cup.
