Singapore-trained champion Jolie’s Shinju stepped up her work at Sandown this morning in preparation for the Group 2 Dato' Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley on Saturday 12 September. The five-year-old mare worked solidly from the 1400m mark on the Sandown Hillside course, running home the last 400m in just over 24.1 seconds.
Regular track rider Eric Samri was clearly happy with the gallop, yelling ‘yahoo!’ on his way back past onlookers.
Assistant trainer Tetsuhito Hirose was very pleased with her work and how she has settled in and commented that she had put on weight since she arrived in Australia, indicating she was enjoying her time at Sandown.
Jolie's Shinju will work at Moonee Valley next Tuesday and will complete her preparation for the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes with a strong gallop at Sandown on Wednesday.
