Travels beckon again for Arc third Snow Fairy
By Tom Kerr 10:12AM 3 OCT 2011
ED DUNLOP on Monday hailed Snow Fairy's excellent Arc third and outlined the Far Eastern races her team are considering for her next outing.
Among the options is a defence of the Queen Elizabeth II Cup in Japan, which Snow Fairy won last year before travelling to Hong Kong to complete a notable international double in the Hong Kong Cup.
Dunlop said: "Snow Fairy has done us all so proud on her travels and if [owner] Mrs [Cristina] Patino agrees she will soon be heading East again, either for the Japan Cup or the Queen Elizabeth II Cup, which she won last year, and on the way home she will again take in Hong Kong, which proved such a successful stop-off last year."
Snow Fairy, who remains in training next season as a five-year-old, turned in the best performance of her career in Paris, according to Dunlop.
He told his website: "Snow Fairy's four-year-old campaign started late because of her injury in Dubai but she has repeatedly produced a [personal best] this summer, improving from the Eclipse to run such a brilliant race against Midday in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, stepping up another gear to give So You Think a fright in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown and then reversing the form with the Coolmore horse by pulling out what is surely her best performance yet in Paris.
"Frankie [Dettori] felt that she might win a furlong and a half out and even when it became clear that she could not match Danedream's finishing kick she never stopped trying and ran all the way to the line."
