Blow for Cecil as setback delays return of Multidimensional

MULTIDIMENSIONAL has met with a setback in training and will not be back in action until the autumn at the earliest.

The Danehill colt had brought Henry Cecil back into the limelight when securing the trainer a first Pattern-race success in four years in the Group 2 Prix Guillaume d'Ornano at Deauville last August.

The lightly raced four-year-old was expected to build on that effort this term.

Cecil said: “Multidimensional was cantering on the Polytrack when sustaining a hairline pelvic fracture - there was no displacement, but unfortunately it has put him back until September.

“It's disappointing as he was one of the main hopes for the season and it was intended he would go for race like the Prince of Wales's Stakes, Eclipse and Juddmonte International.

“He is sound, but we will have to give him some time off and we hope to give him one run in September before going for the Champion Stakes at Newmarket.
