George Washington唔跑,Darjina即成2-1大熱
Prix du Moulin winner Darjina remains William Hill’s 2-1 favourite for the Queen Elizabeth II at Ascot following the 48 hour declaration stage for the race. The daughter of Zamindar looks set to tackle Godolphin’s Ramonti, who she defeated at Longchamp last time out.
As expected George Washington was not one of the ten acceptors for the race, However, Aidan O’Brien has left both Excellent Art and Duke Of Marmalade in the Group 1 contest.
Other notable entries include the Summer Mile winner Cesare, and the Stan James 2000 Guineas runner-up Vital Equine.
Tony Kenny from Hills commented “George Washington was very easy to back all week having drifted out from 13-8 to 9-4 for the race, and it came as no surprise when his name wasn’t on the list of declared runners on Thursday morning” He continued “Obviously it’s a major disappointme nt for racing fans that Gorgeous George will be staying home, but it still looks like a fantastic race”
“Darjina was a very impressive winner of the Moulin and looks a worthy favourite for the QEII, but Frankie has been very bullish about the chances of Ramonti reversing the French form, and I’m sure that there will be thousands of Frankie fans that will agree with his argument”
