Aidan O'Brien runs Vivaldi and Wassily Kandinsky as he bids to saddle the winner of the Bank of America Chester Vase for the second successive year.

The Ballydoyle trainer landed the Group Three contest on the Roodee for the first time with subsequent Irish Derby winner Soldier Of Fortune 12 months ago. Vivaldi, winner at Gowran Park on his final start as a two-year-old, will be ridden by Johnny Murtagh, while David McCabe gets the leg-up on the maiden Wassily Kandinsky.

O'Brien said: "Vivaldi won his final start last year in Gowran Park and has not run since then and will need the experience. Wassily Kandinsky was just beaten in a maiden by one of Dermot Weld's who has won a few since then and I hope he improves for his first run."

Arguably the best form in the race is that by Feared In Flight when he was third to Ibn Khaldun in the Racing Post Trophy last autumn. The Barry Hills-trained colt has already shown his well-being this term when third to Centennial in the Sandown Classic Trial at the end of April.

"We were very pleased with him at Sandown. He's come out of that race very well and Chester should suit him," said Hills' son and assistant, Charlie.
