IBN KHALDUN could attempt to redeem his reputation in the Irish 2,000 Guineas on May 24 after pleasing connections in his work on the private Chippenham gallop in Newmarket on Wednesday morning.
The Dubai Destination colt was well fancied for his return in the Stanjamesuk.com 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket 11 days ago but ran 𡜻lat?and failed to show anything like the form he had displayed when taking the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy last October.
Trainer Saeed BinSuroor said: 𨧻bn Khaldun worked well this morning and was fresh and healthy and we may take the option of running him in the Irish Guineas. We will keep our option open as Rio De La Plata could go there too.?
Rio De La Plata finished runner-up to Falco in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Longchamp on Sunday and
the Prix du Jockey-Club at Chantilly may turn out to be the more viable option.
Bin Suroor added: 𣫮Rio De La Plata ran a really good race from a bad draw and he could go amile and a quarter but we will wait and see how he comes out of the race and we certainly wouldn't rule out the Irish 2,000 Guineas.?
Fast Company was another in action on Newmarket's Chippenham hill who could soon join the batting order and the flagbearing Ramonti is another for whom firm battle plans could be drawn soon.
