AIDAN O'BRIEN'S 2,000 Guineas winner Henrythenavigator is likely to lock horns once again with New Approach in the Boylesports-sponsored Irish version at the Curragh next weekend.
The Kingmambo coltgot the better of Jim Bolger's previously unbeaten New Approach by the narrowest of margins at Newmarket and as long as the Ballydoyle handler is happy with the state of the ground the pair will do battle once again.
Henrythenavigator has only ever tasted defeat on soft ground and O'Brien is keen to keep him to a firmer surface.
"Henrythenavigator will run in the Irish 2,000 Guineas next weekend if the ground is good or better," said O'Brien.
The ground at the Curragh at the moment ahead of next weekend's Classic meeting is good to firm.
Racecourse manager Paul Hensey said: "The ground is currently good to firm and there are showers forecast for later today.
"We'll have a look at the forecast on Monday and make a view then about the possibility of any watering."
