TRAINER Jim Bolger said yesterday that he was looking at giving Derby hero New Approach two more races this season as he reported the Galileo colt to be progressing well following the injury that has ruled him out of actionsince Epsom.

New Approach missed the Irish Derby after soreness was discovered in his left hind foot and subsequent tests revealed some soreness in the gluteal muscle area high up on his left hindleg side.

Speaking at Galway yesterday, Bolger said:“New Approach is coming along well. I'm not sure where his next race will be, but we are looking at the possibility of him having another couple of races this year.

“He's in the Juddmonte International, the Irish Champion Stakes, the Arc and the Breeders' Cup and he may run in two of those races. It's too soon to say what his next race will be.”                
New Approach was among 36 possibles for the Juddmonte International at York on August 19 following the latest forfeit stage. The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes hero Duke Of Marmalade is one of 11 entries for Aidan O'Brien, with yesterday's Sussex Stakes winner Henrythenavigator and Irish Derby scorer Frozen Fire also possibles for Ballydoyle.

The likes of Linngari, Phoenix Tower, Pipedreamer and the Mike de Kock-trained Archipenko are also possibles at this stage.

There are also a number of smart fillies engaged, including Sir Michael Stoute's Pretty Polly winner Promising Lead, Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Halfway To Heaven andBolger's Coronation Stakes winner Lush Lashes.
