MIKE de Kock is excited about four new acquisitions from Ireland’s Coolmore Stud and one from trainer David Elsworth. Former Aidan O’Brien  trained Macarthur, King Of Rome, Kingdom of Naples, Zulu Chief and  Stubbs Art will be shipped to Dubai for the 2009 Dubai Racing Carnival.

Four of the newcomers were purchased by Sheik Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum: They are:

MACARTHUR:
4-y-old colt by Montjeu from Out West x Gone West
This one boasts three wins and four places from only 12 starts and is a brother to Racing Post Derby winner Motivator. His best performance was a third place in the Coronation Cup and he’s earned well over R1 million in stakes already.

KING OF ROME:
3-y-old colt by Montjeu from Amizette x Forty Niner
Here’s a promising stayer whose best performance was a second to recent Melbourne Cup runner  Allesandro Volte in the Derby Trial.

KINGDOM OF NAPLES:
3-y-old colt by Sadler’s Wells from Inkling x Seeking The Gold
Impeccably bred, Kingdom of Naples is from a half-sister to former star Numerous, now a successful sire. He raced one, in October 2007, for a three-length win over 1600m.

ZULU CHIEF:
3-y-old colt by Fusaichi Pegasus from La Lorgnette by Val D’Lorne
This half-brother to champion racehorse  and boom sire Hawk Wing has only raced five times for one win, but De Kock is particularly excited about his prospects.

STUBB’S ART (IRE):
3-y-old colt by Hawk Wing from Rich Dancer by Halling

Stubbs Art has raced 13 times for only one win, but he’s competed at top level to horses like Henrythenavigator, and his best recent run was a four-length beating by star Eagle Mountain in the Nayef Joel Stakes at Newmarket.
