WORKFORCE is set to miss Royal Ascot and what promised to be an intriguing head-to-head with former Australian star
So You Think in next Wednesday's Prince of Wales's Stakes.
Royal Ascot remained a possibility for the 2010 Derby winner after he made a winning reappearance at Sandown 13 days ago, but he is now likely to wait until the Coral-Eclipse back at the Esher course on July 2.
Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, confirmed on Tuesday: "
Workforce probably won't go to Royal Ascot. He is more likely to wait for the Coral-Eclipse."
Workforce and So You Think share favouritism at 9-4 with the sponsors for the Eclipse. In Workforce's absence, So You Think's main rival at Royal Ascot is likely to be Prix Ganay winner
Planteur.
Trainer Elie Lellouche on Tuesday took the colt to the Les Aigles training complex, where he worked on the round track with three stablemates. Lellouche is delighted with Planteur and said: "The colt went well and all the lights are green for Ascot."
