Sea the Stars 奪得 Cartier Horse of the Year
Record-breaking racehorse Sea the Stars has added two more titles to his roll of honour after being named Cartier Horse of the Year for 2009.
The Derby and 2,000 Guineas winner was also named best three-year-old after a season which culminated in victory at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Sea the Stars saw off Mastercraftsman, Goldikova, Conduit and Ghanaati to win the top annual award.
In October he retired to stud to breed with 2008 Horse of the Year Zarkava.
John Oxx's horse beat Rip Van Winkle, Mastercraftsman, Fame And Glory and Le Havre to clinch the award for best three-year-old, and Oxx himself was also honoured.
He won the prestigious Award of Merit, for the person who has made the greatest contribution to British racing in the past 12 months.
The award for the best Older Horse went to Freddie Head's Goldikova, who beat Conduit, Fleeting Spirit, Dar Re Mi and Vision d'Etat to the title.
The unbeaten St Nicholas Abbey was named best two-year-old, beating Siyouni, Awzaan, Arcano and Pounced.
In the filly awards, Special Duty was named best two-year-old, with Sariska winning the award for the best three-year-old.
Yeats made a bit of history with his fourth Cartier award, as he was named Champion Stayer of the year, while Fleeting Spirit was named sprinter of the year after he win in the Group One Darley July Cup at Newmarket.
