Atlantic Jewel’s spring carnival over One of the spring carnival’s big guns Atlantic Jewel has fallen foul of injury and will miss the spring carnival.

The undefeated superstar is believed to have bumped atendon recently which has caused ongoing problems.
The Mark Kavanagh-trained mare held the call in early Cox Plate markets with Sportsbet.com.au having the daughter of Fastnet Rock as the $4.20favourite.

Atlantic Jewel has earned $927,925 and is undefeated in seven starts.

The four-year-old mare has recorded two Group I wins in the Thousand Guineas and the All Aged Stakes.

The filly is owned by Coolmore, one of Australia’s biggest breeding operations.
Atlantic Jewel’s demise is the latest blow to the upcoming spring festival of racing. Earlier this month connections announced that Australia’s other undefeated superstar Black Caviar wouldn’t race again this year.
