Arlington opts for Polytrack

ARLINGTON PARK has opted for Polytrack as its new main-track surface, and the installation of the track will be completed by the time the track opens for training (April 23) for the 2007 meeting which begins on May 4.
Del Mar in California also is in the process of installing Polytrack as its main-track surface.
“We felt there were additional benefits of being able to align the tracks on a circuit and keeping horses racing on a consistent surface,” said track president Roy Arnold. “We think we're going to have the ability to attract stables to race with us from May toSeptember, and that those stables will find benefits to being able to ship back and forth from Keeneland.”
The latter venue, which also has Polytrack as it main-track surface, races in April and October and is open for training during Arlington Park’smeeting.
Arlington is a member of the Churchill Downs Inc. family of racetracks.
