Champion English mare Ouija Board is in foal to leading Kentucky-based stallion Kingmambo. :eee: :aaa:
The winner of 10 of her 22 starts, Ouija Board was retired in December after she suffered a splint injury in the eve of the Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin.
Her final career start was in the Japan Cup last November where she finished third behind champion stayer Deep Impact.
Ouija Board, by shuttle sire Cape Cross, won 10 of her 22 lifetime starts including six Group One events on three continents.
She was covered by Kingmambo at Lane's End Farm on February 26.
"I am glad to say that Oujia Board is confirmed in foal,” said her owner, Lord Derby.
"It is really great news as we were concerned because she is a six-year-old mare."
Ouija Board's international awards included two US Eclipse Awards and two Cartier Horse of the Year Awards in Europe.
Ouija Board to will remain in Kentucky for another two months before she is shipped home to Lord Derby's Stanley House Stud at Newmarket in England.
