Passage Of Time could be a surprise addition to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe field following her solid comeback effort in Paris last weekend.

The Oaks favourite was racing for the first time since Epsom, after which she was treated for a throat problem, when taking third in the Prix Vermeille at Longchamp.

Trainer Henry Cecil left options open for the Prince Khalid Abdullah-owned filly following her reappearance, but a return to the same track before heading to America could be on the agenda.

Cecil said: “She has come back from France in very good form and there is now a good chance she will go for the Arc.

“The final decision will rest with the Prince but she could go there and then to the Breeders’ Cup a couple of weeks later, so the timings would work well.

“The race last weekend really brought her on as she lost everyth ing when we treated her for the throat abscess. All of the muscle came away and she looked like a skeleton.

“She is really coming back to herself and just got tired at the end of the Vermeille, which you might expect her too as it was a hot Group One and she had been off a long time.”

Passage Of Time is 33-1 with Blue Square for the October 7 race.
