威滿蹄可能會跑朱德望國際錦標
Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor believes multiple Group One winner Ramonti will benefit from a step up to a mile and a quarter following a trip to Glorious Goodwood on July 30.
After his fifth-placed seasonal bow at Ascot on Saturday, the six-year-old will take in the BGC Sussex Stakes - a race he won last year - over a mile before tackling a longer distance.
"Ramonti is sound and happy and has come back from Ascot well," said Bin Suroor.
"He needed the race and the ground was on the soft side for him.
"He has improved for the race and looks fitter and happier. Work on a morning is often not enough and you need to get horses on the track to really improve.
"We will now look at the Sussex Stakes and I think the mile at Goodwood will suit him.
"After that he could step up to a mile and a quarter in a race like the Juddmonte International. I think a longer trip would suit and that is why we took him to Hong Kong last year."
Ramonti has twice raced beyond a mile, finishing second in the Italian Derby and capturing the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup.
Another Godolphin inmate Bin Suroor believes will benefit from a longer trip is Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner Rio De La Plata, who was tapped for toe before staying on to take third in last weekend's Prix Jean Prat.
"He was unlucky but I think he is now a mile-and-a-quarter horse," said the trainer.
"He is by Rahy and is a year older and that could be the best trip for him."
Plans for 2006 Derby second Hala Bek remain fluid after the colt slammed his rivals at Nottingham last week on his first run since Epsom.
"Hala Bek is still weak. He was off for two years and will need another race so we are not going to push him," said Bin Suroor.
"We will find another race and then make plans."
Bin Suroor added that former Classic hopes Ibn Khaldun and Fast Company will not run again this year, but could return to the track at the Dubai Racing Carnival next spring.
