萬成預計在2-3星期後可以再次出戰
AFTER nearly two years in exile from the sport he loves, Chris Munce is close to returning to race riding.
The jockey has been riding trackwork most days for two weeks and is expected to take his first race rides in two or three weeks.
"I want to get another set of barrier trials in, then make a decision about when I start back at the races," Munce said.
Munce rode in 11 barrier trials at Randwick on Friday and was surprised how well he had coped with the workload.
He has been wearing lycra sporting apparel under his riding gear and that has minimised fatigue and muscle soreness.
"I pulled up as good as gold after the trials. I couldn't believe it," Munce said.
"I've been riding every day and I haven't had any soreness in my legs at all.
"I'm feeling really strong and as fit as I can be without riding in races."
The jockey was released from jail on October 30 after serving 20 months of a two-year term for his part in the tips-for-bets affair in Hong Kong. He still has to answer 36 charges laid by Hong Kong Jockey Club stewards.
The inquiry is likely to resume on Monday with Munce participating via video link.
Munce hopes the inquiry is concluded quickly so he can concentrate fully on his return to race riding.
