Black Caviar heads the list of 65 horses nominated for the $1 million Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on March 9.
A stunning line-up of super-sprinters including the injury-plagued Hay List, international Group 1 star Ortensia, brilliant three-year-olds Pierro, Proisir and Samaready, and rising stars Howmuchdoyouloveme and Moment Of Change are just some of the horses entered for Victoria’s richest sprint race.
Trainer Peter Moody has not ruled out Black Caviar running in the race, one she won last year with 58kgs.
He has been informed by RV’s handicapping department to expect about 61.5kgs for the unbeaten mare this year.
WA’s best two sprinters Barakey and Luckygray are both entered, as too is the amazing 11-year-old former Hong Kong superstar Good Ba Ba.
**Caulfield Guineas winner All Too Hard is the interesting nomination among 48 entries for the $1 million Darley Australian Cup (2000m) on March 9.
Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon, Victoria Derby winner Fiveandahalfstar, rising former international gallopers Mawingo, Prairie Star, My Quest For Peace and Glencadam Gold, and the unbeaten Callanish are just some of the other entries creating interest.
**The Australian Guineas entries produced no surprises with All Too Hard, Pierro and Proisir heading the 76 entries.
Former Kiwi gallopers Sacred Falls and Tougher Than Ever, now with Chris Waller in Sydney, are two interesting entries, particularly Sacred Falls who is unbeaten in six starts.
Other Guineas entries of note are Albrecht, Driefontein, Hosting, Hvasstan, Norzita and Victoria Derby runner-up Super Cool.作者:

Miracles Of Life to miss Golden Slipper
SPECTACULAR Blue Diamond winner Miracles Of Life will miss the Golden Slipper.
Trainer Daniel Clarken said the decision has been made to spell Miracles Of Life, whose win in the $1 million Blue Diamond stretched her unbeaten record to four.
Clarken said Miracle Of Life would be set for the early spring sprints in Melbourne.
He said after discussions with Iris O'Farrell, who manages the filly for Teeley Assets, it was decided not to pursue the Slipper.
Clarken said the persistent wet weather in Sydney was a contributing factor in spending Miracles Of Life to the paddock.
"I think she is having a little grow at the moment," Clarken said.
"The tracks up there, the way they are now, you would gut your horse and then you really haven't got a horse.
"We decided to put her away and we would then have a nice little spring horse."
Clarken said Miracles Of Life, a winner of $730,000, went out of the stable a "happy horse".作者:

TRIPLE Group 1 winner Manighar will open his Sydney carnival campaign in Saturday's Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm, but a BMW start is not locked in.
Terry Henderson, whose OTI syndicate manages Manighar, said the former Luca Cumani-trained stayer would have his campaign determined by his first-up performance.
Henderson said trainer Peter Moody would make a call which direction to take after assessing the Chipping Norton run.
"Pete is only 50-50 about getting to the BMW," Henderson said.
"If he comes through the first run well he will go to the Ranvet then he will assess whether he is ready for the BMW.
"If not we will hold him back for the Queen Elizabeth."
Manighar missed the Melbourne spring carnival after injuring a knee, which required surgery, before the Caulfield Stakes.
The seven-year-old was not ready to contest the Australian Cup.
Last year after winning the Australian Cup, Moody brought Manighar to Sydney where he won the Ranvet and BMW before finishing second behind More Joyous in the Queen Elizabeth.
The Chipping Norton will also feature Shoot Out, scratched from the Apollo Stakes (1400 m) on February 23, as well as his Chris Waller stablemates Kelinni and Gatewood.作者:
