Seven visiting jockeys will make a hit-and-run mission to Sha Tin on Sunday week to ride on BMW Hong Kong Derby day, but recent departure Maxime Guyon will not be among them after being denied permission by his new employers, the Wertheimer brothers.
Tye Angland (Romantic Touch), Hugh Bowman (Helene Happy Star), Bernard Fayd'herbe (Golden Sleep), Ryan Moore (Got Fly) and Christophe Soumillon (Obliterator) have all picked up rides in the HK$18 million classic.
Tommy Berry (Dan Excel) and Wayne Lordan (Gordon Lord Byron) will join Moore (Divine Calling) and Soumillon (Gold-Fun) to ride in the day's other Group One, the Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup.
But Guyon, who partnered David Ferraris-trained Dynamism to an impressive victory on February 15 and confirmed his intention to return for the Derby, will not return, with Ferraris forced to turn to Olivier Doleuze instead.
"We wanted him back," the South African handler said. "We put in a request and he was very keen, but his bosses wouldn't release him for the ride. But we have a more than able replacement in Olivier."
Matthew Chadwick was touted as the jockey for Tony Cruz's Derby hope Anticipation, but received a three-day careless riding ban at Happy Valley on Wednesday night which means he will be on the sidelines for the four-year-old feature.
Cruz said yesterday that a replacement rider had yet to be locked in.
There was some confusion about who Moore would partner in the Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup after a tug of war between the connections of Tony Millard's Divine Calling and Richard Gibson's Dundonnell.
The globetrotting jockey is being flown in to ride Dundonnell's stablemate Got Fly in the Derby, but he became the subject of a minor dispute for the 1,400m feature.
Jockey Club stewards were preparing to hold a specially convened hearing to settle the disagreement.
But the matter was resolved amicably and Moore will partner Millard's grey.作者:

Gerald Mosse's controversial running and handling appeal has been dismissed after a marathon hearing, but the Frenchman is still free to take the ride on Tony Cruz-trained Anticipation in next weekend's Group One BMW Hong Kong Derby before he begins his 15-meeting suspension.<br />
Mosse is currently serving another six-meeting ban for careless riding and will return for Derby day next Sunday, March 15, before his lengthy running and handling suspension - which will keep him on the sidelines until May 10 - begins.<br />
Jockey Club stewards charged Mosse for his ride on Chris So Wai-yin's Derby contender Redkirk Warrior on January 4, with the veteran found to have not taken all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure the best possible finishing position in a Class Three handicap, in which he finished fifth.<br />
Mosse's appeal had been held over for further evidence to be presented - believed to relate to sectional times - at a hearing that began at 9am yesterday morning and stretched well into the afternoon at Happy Valley.<br />

The jockey's HK$10,000 deposit was also forfeited, but it is of some consolation that he can take the ride on ex-Aidan O'Brien-trained galloper Anticipation in the HK$18 million feature, replacing the suspended Matthew Chadwick.<br />
Anticipation was unplaced three times after arriving with Cruz off a mark of 90 but found form last start when finishing third behind fellow Derby hopeful Contentment over 1,800m last weekend.<br />
In other Derby news, five runners had their preparations topped off with a specially scheduled 1,600m turf trial yesterday morning, with Richard Gibson's Giant Treasure producing an impressive performance to finish first.<br />
Douglas Whyte was aboard Giant Treasure and was soon off to the airport to fly to Melbourne to take the ride on Alpine Eagle in the Group One Australian Guineas at Flemington today. Before leaving immediately after the trial he gave the thumbs up to billionaire owner Pan Sutong's four-year-old.<br />
"He felt great - that's exactly what we wanted from him and he is ready to go," Whyte said after the grey settled fourth and produced a nice turn of foot to score by a length and a half to David Ferraris-trained Derby rival Dynamism (Olivier Doleuze), with Hong Kong Classic Cup winner Thunder Fantasy close up in fourth.<br />
Giant Treasure - third in both the Hong Kong Classic Mile and Hong Kong Classic Cup - is one of three runners in the classic for Gibson, along with another Pan-owned horse, Obliterator, and Got Fly, who was given a quiet trial in seventh, just behind Benno Yung Tin-pang's Romantic Touch (Keith Yeung Ming-lun).<br />
Star English jockey Ryan Moore will partner Got Fly on race day, but local rider Derek Leung Ka-chun kept the saddle warm in the trial and came away impressed.<br />
"He is a nice, big striding horse," Leung said. "He is certainly fit enough and felt like he is a horse that will run a very strong 2,000m."<br />
Thunder Fantasy was ridden by regular pilot Karis Teetan: "They went fast, so I just let him go along at his own pace. John wanted me to just let him relax."作者:
