“What can you say,” said Head, who has become an outstanding trainer of milers. “That was equal to his best. He’s always the same, he’s a brilliant horse who always runs the same sort of race. He’s a miler but he can stay. He doesn’t need to be hidden and come with a burst. He will have a few weeks off at his owner’s stud and then he will come back to prepare for Dubai. He will have the same programme next year.”

Charlie Hills, his trainer, said: “He’s been very straightforward. I have been pretty relaxed because with a horse of his ability you can relax. He has never put a foot wrong and I think he is still improving. We will see how he is, but we could take him to America for the Mile.”
