Following the race, Martin Harley reported that LOGICIAN, which started favourite and finished fourth of four runners, hung right-handed under pressure which resulted in the rider being unable to ride out the colt in the closing stages; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the colt during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
