US Horse Of The Year Invasor is likely to aim for a second successive win in the G1 Suburban Handicap at Belmont Park in New York on June 30.
Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said he preferred to head for the New York race in preference to bringing the Dubai World Cup winner back to racing in $US750,000 Hollywood Gold Cup on the same day in California.
McLaughlin has last year's Belmont Stakes winner Jazil and multiple G3 winner Mustanfar under consideration for the Hollywood Gold Cup over 10 furlongs on the new "cushion" synthetic track.
"I might nominate all three but Sheikh Hamdan does not want to run Invasor on an all-weather track," McLaughlin said.
"Jazil is the most likely, although Mustanfar showed he likes an all-weather track when he just got a beat at Keeneland in his last start."
Trainer Doug O'Neill also has his California champion Lava Man gearing up for an attempt at a third successive win the Hollywood Gold Cup.
Lava Man has also not raced since his last place failure in the Dubai Duty Free at Nad Al Sheba on March 31.
Last year Lava Man won the G1 Charles Whittingham Memorial prior to defending his Gold Cup title and O'Neill has indicated he could take the same route on June 9.
O'Neill has champion sprinter Thor's Echo back in his stable after he was purchased y by Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed al Maktoum and transferred to Dubai trainer Satish Seemar.
Thor's Echo, who was unplaced in both his Dubai starts, will be set for a defence of his Breeders' Cup Sprint crown at Monmouth Park in October.作者:
