Rainbow Quest ,

the most successful British sire in the history of the European Pattern,

and twice champion sire of broodmares,

died on 7 July, as a result of unresolvable complications following emergency surgery for colic.

The 26-year-old son of Blushing Groom had been based at Banstead Manor Stud for the last 19 years,

following his first two seasons standing at Juddmonte Farms, Wargrave.
