Thewayyouare could be the next horse to attempt winning Andre Fabre the Derby he craves after his stylish victory in the Group One Criterium International at Saint-Cloud.
The Epsom Classic has escaped the French maestro despite a few tries and his colt was prominent in the betting even before this outing. He had to dig deep inside the final furlong but found plenty for pressure under Stephane Pasquier.
Criquette Head's Hello Morning emerged as the major threat and appeared to be travelling the better, but did not find as much as Christophe Lemaire expected and went down by half a length.
Herve Barjot, racing manager to Thewayyouare's owner Sean Mulryan said: "We are very pleased, as you can imagine. The race was not working out for him as he was on the rail and the other horse came alongside him and took half a length (out of him).
"He was changing his legs but won very impressively in the end.
"He will definitely have a holiday now but will get 10 furlongs next season and is a horse who can go for the Derby."
Thewayyouare has now won four of his five career starts. Richard Hannon's Redolent was a long way back in third while Barry Hills' Yankadi finished unplaced.
Following the race, Coral cut the winner to 16-1 from 20s for the Derby in June at Epsom.作者:
