Heavily-backed Golden Slipper favourite Amelia's Dream will not run in the $3.5 million race after pulling up severely lame from her spectacular record-breaking win at Rosehill.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained filly smashed her rivals to win the Group Two Silver Slipper by more than six lengths and firm from $8 to $2.80 for the world's richest race for two-year-olds on April 19.

She ran the 1100m in 1:02.90, the fastest time ever run by a two-year-old over the distance at Rosehill.

But just hours after the victory, Amelia's Dream was a sorry sight with her near foreleg heavily bandaged and she was transported to the Randwick Equine Centre for treatment to what could be a career-threatening injury.

"She is out of the Golden Slipper," Waterhouse said.

"I fear she has fractured something, the injury is terrible.

"It looks like she has damaged something near her fetlock.

"They've taken her straight to the Randwick Equine Centre and we will have to just wait and see how bad it is."

Rival trainers stood in awe after the Silver Slipper, with most form experts believing she was a shoo-in for the big race.

Waterhouse immediately rang England-based owner Richard Pegum to give him the bad news.

Amelia's Dream won her first start by more than nine lengths on a heavy Canterbury track late last month.

"In racing you have to take the good with the bad," Waterhouse said.

"I'm gutted, it's a terrible feeling because I know how good this filly is.

"I felt Amelia's Dream and Sebring would fight out the Slipper."

Stablemate Sebring was the Golden Slipper favourite until a few days ago but was displaced when punters came for Amelia's Dream.

TAB Sportsbet suspended betting on the race when informed of the injury.

但呢匹馬真係超強,比同齡馬起碼超二班
