Floral Pegasus out of SIA Cup

Hong Kong galloper Floral Pegasus has been withdrawn from the Group 1 $3million Singapore Airlines International Cup over 2000 metres on May 18.

The Tony Cruz-trained five-year-old was found to be lame following trackwork on Monday and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Floral Pegasus was considered one of the leading challengers for the SIA Cup. He was a last start sixth behind Good Ba Ba in the Champions Mile over 1600 metres at Sha Tin on April 27.

The five-year-old had been booked to arrive in Singapore with fellow Hong Kong gallopers Absolute Champion and Sanziro – who are engaged in the $1million KrisFlyer International Sprint – on Sunday May 11.
