The brilliant Curlin is among 148 entries for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe

PLANS to travel the world's top-rated racehorse, Curlin, from the US to France for a tilt at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe moved a step closer when he featured among 148 entries for the Longchamp race on October 5.
During a red-carpet appearance of the recent Dubai World Cup winner on Kentucky Derby day majority owner Jess Jackson stated that Curlin would be considered for both the Arc and the Japan Cup, and has duly remained true to his word.
Last year's runner-up Youmzain also features among entries for a race which will be worth €4 million, twice the 2007 figure.
Three year-olds make up 80 of the entries headlined by 2,000 Guineas winner and runner-up, Henrythenavigator and New Approach.

There are 33 fillies and mares, most notably Darjina, Finsceal Beo and Peeping Fawn whose younger brother, Group 1 winner Thewayyouare, is one of the three year-old colts entered.
Aidan O'Brien's contingent comprises 28, including recent Prix Ganay winner Duke Of Marmalade, while Saeed Bin Suroor's accounts for 11.
The race maintains its international flavour with Mike de Kock entering Dubai Sheema Classic winner Sun Classique.
The Japanese are not short-handed and last week's Tenno Sho runner-up Meisho Samson tops their list. Australian trainer David Hayes, who has yet to field an Arc runner, has put in 2007 Schweppes Oaks winner Anamato
