Golden Slipper winner Sebring has been secured by Widden Stud when he retires from racing.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained colt went within a head of winning the juvenile triple crown after claiming the Golden Slipper, Sires Produce Stakes then tasted defeat for the first time by Samantha Miss in the Champagne Stakes.
Sebring was a $130,000 yearling syndicated between 10 people through Star Thoroughbreds, many of which had never raced a horse before.
A number of leading studs had tried to secure the colt but connections settled on Widden Stud – for a rumoured $30 million.
The syndicate will continue to race the colt as a three-year-old before he retires to Widden Stud in the Hunter Valley.
Sebring will be the fifth Golden Slipper winning colt to stand at the stud.
