YOUMZAIN is likely to be reappear in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot next month after side-stepping the Royal meeting.
The five-year-old, trained by Mick Channon, was taken out of Saturday's Hardwicke Stakes at the confirmation stage as the race comes too soon after his gallant effort in finishing second to Soldier Of Fortune in the Coronation Cup.
"It definitely is too quick. We never had any intention of running him there afterEpsom," said Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Jaber Abdullah.
"It will probably be the King George next."
Youmzain has become a frustrating horse as he has not won since September 2006 but he has run some fine races in defeat, notably when runner-up to Dylan Thomas in both the King George and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe last season.
"If you put him in the race early he doesn't finish and if you hold him up he finishes well. He's one of those unfortunate horses that gives himself a bit to do,but that's the way he is," Raymond added.
"He's a good horse and it will come right for him one day."作者:
