GOLDIKOVA'S connections have left open the option of running her in the Prix de la Foret next month after the filly completed back-to-back Group 1 wins over a mile in Sunday's Prix du Moulin.
Although the Breeders' Cup remains the ultimate target for the Wertheimers' star, trainer Freddie Head has suggested the Group 1 event over 7f on October 4 could be an option.
Head said: “Goldikova appears to have come out of the race in good form and the plan is still to run her in either the Breeders' Cup Mile or the Filly & Mare race at Santa Anita, although there is just a slight possibility that she could turn out for the Prix de la Foret.”
Darjina could be on her way back to Britain in a bid to end a frustrating sequence of near-misses. The daughter of Zamindar ran second for the fifth time in Group 1 company behind Goldikova in the Moulin.
Trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre is looking for good ground or faster for Darjina and said. “The plan now is to run her in the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket on October 4, She came out of the Moulin in good shape.”
Pascal Bary also reported 1,000 Guineas winner Natagora, sixth in the Moulin, to have come out of her third Group 1 outing in five weeks in good condition.
“She seems fine after the race and I'd just like to see how she comes along before confirming her as a definite runner in the Foret,” he said
