IORITZ MENDIZABAL picked up his 200th winner of the season at Saint-Cloud on Tuesday and is now certain of a second jockey's championship, which he took for the first time in 2004.
Mendizabal went through the 200-barrier when he partneredthe form horse Entre Deax Eaux to victory in the Prix Isonomy. The pair went on to win by a neck from Stormy Weather, Hermoun and British raider Goliath's Boy who was ridden by Tony Hamilton.
The gelding's owner Rob Lloyd said: "He ran a great race and it was well worth coming. The testing ground wasn't ideal and he is turning into a nice three-year-old."
After jumping off the winner, Mendizabal said: "It has been an enormous season to win the Jockey-Club on Vision d'Etat and the Arlington Million on Spirit One and I couldn't be happier at reaching 200 winners again, although I don't ride all Jean-Claude Rouget's horses now. It's been a magnificent year."
Mendizabal will shortly be leaving France to ride in Japan and Hong Kong.作者:
