Melbourne lightweight jockey Stephen Baster will ride the Murray Baker-trained sprinter Fully Fledged in Saturday's $1 million Telegraph Handicap at Trentham.
The three-year-old has only 51kg and forced Baker to look to Australia for a suitable lightweight rider.
"He is a top jockey and he rode for me back in the early 1990s on Staring," said Baker.
"He's a big race rider and that's what you want. He's won 12 Group Ones.”
Baker is pleased with the condition of Fully Fledged since the smart sprinter finished second to Accardo in the Newmarket Handicap at Ellerslie on Boxing Day.
"He's done well and I'm happy with him," said Baker.
