KILDONAN RETIRED TO STUD |
Kildonan, one of the best milers in South Africa, has been retired from the track. Bloodstock agent Jehan Malherbe told SAHorseracing.COM, "Champion Sprinter-Miler KILDONAN (by Rich Man's Gold) will be returning to WILGERBOSDRIFT to take up stud duties this season." Champion trainer Mike De Kock describes Kildonan "as not only one of the best I've trained, but one the best I've seen" Johnny Murtagh (21 Gr1 winners in 2008), who was working Kildonan in Dubai, had no doubt he was good enough to win at Group One level in Europe. "KILDONAN has all the attributes to join the likes of Jet Master and Captain Al as a successful locally bred stallion," he continued "He is a magnificent specimen He was an unbeaten Champion 2YO. He defeated Champion MYTHICAL FLIGHT and Gr1 winner WAR ARTIST over 1200m at Gr1 level at 3. "As a 3YO in the Gr1 Gold Challenge (1600m) he was just touched off by two short heads by official older Champions, POCKET POWER and SUCCESSFUL BIDDER - (despite hitting the front 500m from home). His sire, the ill-fated RICH MAN'S GOLD bred a host of International Gr1 performers. RICH MAN'S GOLD's son, LIDO PALACE - at stud in the USA has already bred VINEYARD HAVEN - a Gr1 winning 2YO last year (recently sold to Godolphin for a reported $12 million USD) His dam, a half sister to Gr1 SA Fillies Sprint winner - SOUND OF RHUM (and dam of the brilliant DUNSINANE), was herself a multiple stakes winner of 5 races. "His own brother, ONE WEE ACORN has won 3 from 4 in Hong Kong and is being touted as a future star. A handful of shares are still available, but we urge you to move fast. The share price of just R50,000 ($5k USD) entitles the shareholder to send two mares (per share) - in each of the first 3 seasons," mentioned Malherbe. source: SAHorseracing.COM 始終都黎唔到香港:zzzzzzzzz: 星火仔要加油呀 |
