Debbie Mountain has an international campaign in mind for recent acquisition Masterofthehorse.
The Investec Derby third, formerly trained by Aidan O'Brien, is set to make his debut for new connections in the Betfair Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on Tuesday.
He could then run in the Prix Dollar at Longchamp during Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe weekend in October, and then spend some time in Qatar where his new owner Al-Abdulmalik Hassan is based.
"He'll run in the Gordon Stakes, then we may go to France afterwards at the Arc meeting for the Prix Dollar," confirmed Newmarket-based Mountain.
"Obviously Qatar sponsor the meeting and the owners are from there. It would be nice representation for them.
"Everything is fine, the horse is good and he's settled in well. He's a very nice horse and we're very pleased to have him.
"He's had quite a busy year. He's been on the go a long time and we want him for a bit more towards the end of this year and the early part of next.
"But it's very much an open plan and we'll take one race at a time."
Masterofthehorse, fourth in the Irish Derby on his latest start, has been taken out of the Ladbrokes Great Voltigeur Stakes, the Juddmonte International and the Ladbrokes St Leger by his former connections.
"Coolmore have withdrawn him from his big entries because he's not under their care, but that was always the plan," she added.
"We've got more of an international plan for him. He was bought to run in Qatar in the Emirates later on in the year. That's the owners interest and that's possibly which way we'll go.
"There are plenty of options for him and we'll take each race as it comes."作者:
