Christophe Soumillon expects to return to riding in France before the end of the season after being sidelined with a fractured elbow.
The 28-year-old, who has lost his retainer with the Aga Khan to Christophe Lemaire, will spend Arc weekend working for the French racing channel, Equidia.
Soumillon came to grief on Burlada at Nancy earlier this month when the filly veered right and threw him into the path of a beaten horse.
He was treated on the ground for about an hour before being taken to hospital to undergo surgery.
"All is going very well with my elbow," Soumillon said.
"The plaster came off my arm two weeks ago and I am having intense physiotherapy.
"I have no fixed date as to when I will be riding again but I will certainly be in the saddle again before going off to Japan during the winter.
"This break will enable me to have some holiday with my family, which isn't always the case."
Soumillon is using time to reflect on the severing of links with the Aga Khan, for whom he rode the great Zarkava to victory in last year's Arc, a race he had also won with the owner's Dalakhani in 2003.作者:
