Jim Bolger has raised a slight doubt over the participation of hot favourite New Approach in Sunday's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh.

The Epsom hero is the 4-5 favourite with Ladbrokes to complete the Derby double but the Coolcullen handler has outlined some concern over the fitness of his stable star.

Bolger said: "New Approach is not 100% comfortable in his box. We do not as yet know the extent of the problem.

"It appears it may be a foot bruise and we will know more tomorrow evening."

New Approach, who also finished runner-up in both the English and Irish 2000 Guineas, is set to cross swords again with Epsom second and third Tartan Bearer and Casual Conquest.

William Hill pushed out New Approach to evens from 4-5 following Bolger's comments.

They also cut Tartan Bearer to 11-4 from 7-2 while Alessandro Volta has been clipped a couple of points from 14-1 to 12s.

VC Bet have opted to suspend their market pending a further update from Bolger.
