RAMONTI has a leg infection and faces a race against time to make the Dubai World Cup programme.
With Jalil established as Godolphin's main Dubai World Cup hope, Ramonti ?four timesa Group 1 winner in 2007 ?is being aimed at the Dubai Duty Free, where Prix de Diane winner West Wind is also set to make her debut for Saeed Bin Suroor's team after being switched from Alex Pantall.
However, Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford revealed that Ramonti had suffered a setback. “We hope he will make the Dubai Duty Free but he has missed a few days,?said Crisford.
“HHe has a hind leg infection but he will have a fighting chance of making the Duty Free and we have until next week before we need to make a decision.?
Jalil will be joined by ex-Brazilian-trained Happy Boy in the World Cup, leaving Champion Stakes winner Literato as a likely contender for the Sheema Classic on the turf.
“HHappy Boy is also recovering from a leg infection but is on course for the Dubai World Cup on what should be a busy night,?added Crisford.
