Team USA has trimmed its roster by four players in anticipation of next month's training camp in New York City.
Tyreke Evans, Gerald Wallace, O.J. Mayo and JaVale McGee were cut from the roster on Wednesday.
There are now 15 players on the Team USA roster. Three more players will have to be cut by Aug. 26 when USA basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo must submit his 12-man roster.
Team USA currently has six guards (Derrick Rose, Chauncey Billups, Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Stephen Curry and Eric Gordon); four wingmen (Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, Rudy Gay and Danny Granger); three power forwards (Lamar Odom, Kevin Love and Jeff Green); and two centers (Tyson Chandler and Brook Lopez).
The Wizards will re-sign forward Josh Howard, according to a source.
Howard will sign a one-year worth close to $4 million deal with the Wizards, Howard's consultant Derek Lafayette told Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
The Rockets have traded center David Andersen to the Raptors for a second-round draft pick, according to sources.
Memphis police have found the body of a man that sources say is former NBA player Lorenzen Wright.
The body was found in southeast Memphis and there appears to be a self-inflicted gun shot wound on the body, according to police sources.
