George Washington，未知會否出戰 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes

英國主要博彩公司因George Washington未知會否出戰Queen Elizabeth II Stakes而於今早暫停接受該場賽事的投注。

MAJOR bookmaking firms have suspended ante-post betting on the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

The decision appears to have been taken following rumours concerning the participation of likely favourite George Washington.

Neal Wilkins, spokesman for VCbet, said: "We took the decision to suspend betting on the QEII at 11.20am on Wednesday morning after doubts were raised about the participation of one of the leaders in the market."

A meeting is thought to be taking place at Ballydoyle this afternoon after which a decision is expected to be announced by trainer Aidan O'Brien as to whether last year's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner takes his place.

Bookmaker Stan James reissued prices without George Washington, making Darjina the 9-4 favourite, with Ramonti next best at 5-2 and Excellent Art, a stablemate of George Washington, third best at 11-4.
