More Than Ready 2008年度配種費較2007年上升2.5倍
More Than Ready, who figures to top this season’s Australian 2-year-old sires list, has had his stud fee bumped to $110,000 (approximately $103,000 in U. S. funds) for this year’s Australian bookings. The increase represents more than double his $44,000 fee from 2007, when he covered a book of 163 mares.
More Than Ready, who stands in the U.S. at Vinery near Lexington, shuttles to Vinery Australia near Scone.
Eleven-year-old More Than Ready (Southern Halo—Woodman’s Girl, by Woodman) was the leading first-season sire of 2004-05 and finished runner-up to Redoute’s Choice on the juvenile table that season, with six stakes winners.
But thanks this year to Sebring, winner of the Aami Golden Slipper Stakes (Aust-I), and dual Magic Millions winner Augusta Proud, More Than Ready figures to be a runaway winner of the title in 2007-08.
His progeny also has been keenly sought after at the major sales this year, with 29 selling at the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast at an average of $225,000 and 14 selling at the Inglis Easter Sale for an average price of $517,000, including a top price of $1.6 million for a filly.
More Than Ready joins Arrowfield’s Hussonet as the big mover among this year's sires in terms of service fees. The latter will stand for $137,500 in 2008.
