Goffs拍賣會第2日,雙料一級賽盟主Mastercraftsman全妹以一百萬歐羅成交
A full sister to this season’s dual group I-winning juvenile Mastercraftsman realized 1 million euros at the second day of the Goffs Million sale Sept. 30.:kkk: :ppp:
The Danehill Dancer filly, also a half-sister to grade III winner Genuine Devotion, was offered from Paul Shanahan’s Ashtown House Stud. She looks set to join Mastercraftsman’s trainer, Aidan O’Brien, after being knocked down to Coolmore boss John Magnier. Demi O’Byrne signed the buyer’s ticket.
Danehill Dancer was also responsible for a 380,000 euros half-brother to grade I Garden City Breeders’ Cup winner Luas Line, sold from Eddie and Eimear Irwin’s Co. Tipperary-based Marlhill House Stud. Jane Allison, racing manager to British Horseracing Authority chairman Paul Roy, signed for the colt.
There were 220 (209 in 207) lots catalogued, of which 206 (192) were offered and 151 (172) sold for 12,750,000 (20,275,000) euros, with an average of 84,437 (117,878) euros and median of 40,000 (80,000) euros.
Thus the gross was down 37%, the average dropped by 28%, and the median fell by 50%.
Galileo’s progeny were again in demand, none more so than a half-brother to five-time U.S. winner Bohunk, who made 500,000 euros. Like the top lot, he was consigned from Ashtown House Stud and bought by O’Byrne.
The Coolmore representative also bought a Montjeu colt from the family of Galileo and King’s Best for 420,000 euros consigned by Castlemartin Stud.
Agent Simon Christian, whose client Pat Fahey won the Goffs Million race Sept. 28 with Soul City, was another Galileo buyer. He spent 400,000 euros on a filly that is the first foal of the Cadeaux Genereux mare Starchy and offered from Bobby Donworth and Honora Corridan’s Round Hill Stud. Starchy had been bought carrying the filly for 180,000 guineas at the 2006 Tattersalls December sale.
The third and final day of the Goffs Million starts at 11a.m. Oct. 1.
