Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman has copped another telling suspension for careless riding at Caulfield on Saturday and will miss riding glamour filly Samantha Miss in her next race start.
Bowman was suspended for 22 meetings for causing interference aboard third placed Typhoon Zed in the Group One Oakleigh Plate.
Bowman, who only resumed riding last week after serving a two months suspension, was outed for shifting in sharply near the 800m, causing interference to a number of horses on his inside.
Bowman can resume riding at the Randwick Guineas meeting on March 14 but will be an onlooker when Samantha Miss has her next start in the Surround Stakes on March.
At Rosehill Craig Agnew was suspended for careless riding on Melbourne Cup winner Viewed in the Apollo Stakes and will be out from March 1 to March 9.
The riding honours at Rosehill went to Jim Cassidy with a winning treble including a black type double in the Parramatta Cup (Vision And Power) and Triscay Stakes (Madame Pedrille).
Vision And Power added to his growing reputation as Sydney's newest iron horse when he produced another big hearted win in the $100,000 Parramatta Cup under the topweight of 59kg.
Vision And Power has now recorded four wins and a second in his five starts since resuming with his trainer Joe Pride believing he now deserves a crack at Group One company and may run him in the $250,000 Chipping Norton Stakes over 1600m at Randwick on March 7.
The lghtly-raced Madame Pedrille treated her seasoned rivals with contempt in the $100,000 Triscay Stakes, scoring by 3 ½ lengths to notch her third win from just four starts for Newcastle trainer Darren Smith.
Cassidy told Smith Madame Pedrille is on of the most promising fillies he has ridden for some time and is certain she will win better races.
