The globetrotting Doctor Dino has been retired after suffering a tendon injury in the Dubai Sheema Classic at Nad Al Sheba last weekend.

Richard Gibson's seven-year-old won nine of his 30 career starts with victories coming in his native France, America and Hong Kong.

He has also visited Singapore, England and Canada in a glittering career and Gibson is full of praise for a chestnut who has amassed the best part of £2million in his career.

"Doctor Dino gave us everything and more and has taken us to a level of global racing that you could only dream about," said Gibson.

"We are very grateful to the owner for sending us Doctor Dino and we wish the horse a happy and successful stallion career."
