Corey Brown has drawn comparisons between snaring the ride on Gallant Tess in Saturday's Cox Plate and how he joined forces with star Apache Cat.

The suspension of Gallant Tess' regular jockey Jeff Lloyd from Saturday's Caulfield Cup has opened the door for Brown who received the call to ride the David Payne-trained Gallant Tess last night.
