Champion sprinter Apache Cat will be aimed at a defence of the TJ Smith Stakes in Sydney while veterinary tests will determine the immediate future of Weekend Hussler.

Apache Cat bounced back from a lacklustre performance in the Lightning Stakes to win his second Group One Australia Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

But Weekend Hussler was found wanting and finished fifth of the seven runners leaving trainer Ross McDonald baffled.

McDonald rated the performance as Weekend ..
