The top-class Creachadoir looks set to line up for the Dubai Duty Free - his first appearance since winning the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes in England in May

The five-year-old required surgery after fracturing his off-fore following his Lockinge win, but has recovered well, according to the Godolphin camp.

"He was injured before Royal Ascot and missed the rest of the year but has come back well and has been in good form at home," said trainer Saeed Bin Suroor.

"The Duty Free is always a tough race and we have Alexandros in there as well and he has improved throughout the year and remains in great shape."

He'll face stiff opposition in Paco Boy, who is said to be "flying" in his preparation for the US$5m showdown.

Richard Hannon's four-year-old has never won over further than 1400m but connections are fairly confident his stamina can come to the fore this year.

"He's flying. He flies out to Dubai on Saturday and he's in great form, really good form," said Richard Hannon jnr, the trainer's son and assistant.

"He's working super. He'll go there and, depending on how he comes back, we'll obviously have a look at the Lockinge, Queen Anne and the Sussex Stakes.

"I think he should stay - he's a year older now.

"He's a little bit more mature and he certainly wasn't stopping when he won the Foret."

Leading European sprinter Marchand D'Or is all set for a second crack at the Dubai Golden Shaheen (sponsored by Gulf News) on March 28.

The six-year-old ran eighth to Kelly’s Landing in the US£2m dash two years ago, but enters this year’s renewal a far better horse, having won six times since, including four at the highest level.

The grey was last seen finishing sixth in the Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin in December after a long hard season, but the signs are that he’s back to his best.

Trainer Freddie Head said: "Marchand D'Or is very well. I'm really happy with him and his work so we're going to Dubai for the Golden Shaheen. We're leaving on Monday so we'll see how we get on.

"Afterwards we'll go to Ascot for either the King's Stand or the Golden Jubilee, and then the July Cup at Newmarket. The same as last year."

Mick Channon reports his Dubai Sheema Classic hope Youmzain to be in better order than 12 months ago, when his stable star was fifth to Sun Classique.

The son of Sinndar, who was also third in the Nakheel-sponsored US$5m contest two years ago, has been impressing his trainer in the build-up.

"Youmzain is in great form. He did a nice bit of work under Richard Hills so he should go there with a great chance," said Channon.

"It's very competitive and it is still early in the year so I would hope he would improve a bit for it. But in these Group One races you have got to be right so we have done plenty with him.

"He has had a far better preparation this year than last year so I would be very hopeful really."

Red Rocks is also returning for another crack at the 2400m race, following his ninth to Vengeance Of Rain in the 2007 renewal, when trained by Brian Meehan.

He has since joined US trainer Mark Hennig, who said: "We received the invitation just last week."

"It works out well for us, because at the moment I didn't have any plans to run him right now.

“The only option would have been the Pan Am here this weekend at Gulfstream, but I really didn't want to run him over that turf course.

“It's just been too hard, and he seems to like a little more give in the ground. So it was either go to Dubai or wait another six to eight weeks before starting him again."

Prix de l'Opera winner Lady Marian will make her Godolphin debut in the same race, where the ex-German four-year-old will be joined by stablemate Kirklees.

"Lady Marian is a lovely filly who has pleased us since arriving," said trainer Saeed Bin Suroor.

"Her form in Europe is very good and we have high hopes for her but we know this will be a tough race, where Kirklees will appreciate switching back to turf."
